February 2025 Highlights: Celebrating Community, Culture & Connection
February was a month filled with love, learning, and celebration throughout the Jair Lynch communities. From honoring Black History Month to sharing joy on Valentine’s Day, our team created moments that brought residents together in meaningful ways. Take a look at some of our favorite highlights from the month:
Boolean Coding Club for Kids at Barcroft
At Barcroft Apartments, local high school STEM students led a four-hour weekend workshop in coding and robotics, guided by their teachers. The event was a huge hit with elementary and middle school residents, sparking curiosity and inspiration. Parents were especially grateful that it was scheduled on a weekend, allowing more children to attend. The workshop was a perfect blend of fun and learning.

Crochet and Conversation at Paul Laurence Dunbar Apartments (PLDA)
We introduced a new crochet and knitting class at PLDA, offering residents a creative outlet while providing space for meaningful dialogue. In addition to learning a new hobby, residents shared their thoughts on pressing topics—like the rising impact of inflation—fostering a sense of support and understanding among neighbors. The opportunity to connect, create, and be heard was deeply appreciated.

Valentine’s Day at Cascades Crossing
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we shared love and appreciation with residents at Cascades Crossing by distributing beautifully wrapped roses and chocolates. A table with pastries and juice added a sweet surprise to their day. The warm smiles and heartfelt gratitude we received reminded us why we love doing what we do.
Black History Month Celebration with the Fifth District Police at Jamison
At Jamison, we hosted a unique Black History Month event with the Fifth District Police Department: Fall in Love with Black History Through the Art of Candle Making. Residents connected with local officers in a welcoming and relaxed environment, while enjoying pizza, soda, and a hands-on craft activity. The positive feedback was overwhelming, and residents have already asked for a follow-up event with the department.
Family Game Night at Berkdale
Families at Berkdale gathered for a lively evening of classic board games, including Connect Four, Operation, and Jenga. With fast-paced rounds and rotating teams, the energy was high as we crowned our ultimate game night champion. The event brought together parents, kids, and neighbors in a joyful, nostalgic way—giving everyone a chance to bond, laugh, and create new memories.
