Summer in Swing: Jair Lynch’s Resident Engagement Event Recap for May 2024
As May ushered warm weather and the welcoming of summer, Jair Lynch’s properties were full of energy and activity. Between celebrating May holidays and honoring family members, our communities were abuzz with positivity and gratitude. From Mother’s Day to Memorial Day, here is a recap of some memorable moments from the month:
Mother’s Day Celebrations
At Berkdale, Bedford and Victoria, Villas at Langley, and Clarkston, the community came together to honor moms with thoughtful gestures and craft activities. One community started the day with flowers and greeting cards at school bus stops, followed by afternoon ice cream treats while kids crafted personalized Mother’s Day cards. Even school bus drivers, a part of our community, received gifts!
Cascades Crossing hosted a Mother’s Day craft event. More than 50 residents participated, and the children were happy to have a gift to share with their moms. The children created personalized mugs, magnets, and canvases.
Cinco de Mayo
Phoenix Apartments embraced Cinco de Mayo with vibrant decorations, a nacho bar, beverages, and salsa music. The festive set-up outside the rental office doors brought the spirit of Mexico right to residents, creating a lively and enjoyable celebration.
Memorial Day Festivities
Potomac Vista celebrated Memorial Day with a poolside pizza party. Residents enjoyed lunch by the water, fostering a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for all ages.
Carver Terrace organized a Memorial Day cookout offering grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, water, and fruit snacks. This event provided a safe space for residents to enjoy the holiday together.
Youth-Focused Activities
Jair Lynch’s property management partners at Berkdale hosted a youth group game day, during which children enjoyed various activities such as soccer, baseball, ping pong, bean bag toss, Jenga, reading, drawing, listening to music, and snacking. This event encouraged kids to engage with one another, building new friendships and learning new skills in a fun, outdoor setting.
Residents at Jamison gathered for a lively Bingo night in the courtyard and second-floor club room. This event provided an excellent opportunity for neighbors to connect and enjoy some friendly competition.
Safety and Mental Health Awareness
Bedford and Victoria hosted a Mental Health Awareness Day event. Residents received educational pamphlets and resources about mental health services in Hyattsville, along with complimentary coffee and donuts—this initiative aimed to promote awareness and provide valuable support to community members.
Carver Terrace continued its Morning Conversations series, a bi-monthly gathering that promotes community safety and constructive dialogue among residents, staff, and neighborhood leaders.
May included meaningful events highlighting the sense of community and care that Jair Lynch strives to cultivate in all neighborhoods. In partnership with our property management partners, we are committed to providing residents with engaging and supportive experiences year-round.
