Grand Opening of âme of DC

Washington, DC– Jair Lynch Real Estate Partners, a leading real estate developer and owner in the DC metro area, is pleased to announce the grand opening of âme, a luxury 206-unit apartment building in the Meridian Hill neighborhood of DC.

“Our goal from the start was to pay tribute to the storied legacy of the building while breathing new life into the project, and providing much-needed new residential units in the neighborhood,” said Jair Lynch, founder and CEO.

The building was first constructed in 1942 as The Meridian Hill Hotel for Women, housing women who moved to DC to fill government jobs during World War II. It was purchased by Howard University in the 1960s and transformed into the Meridian Hill Hall, a 600-unit dorm that housed Howard University students for over four decades. Following a fire, the building sat vacant for years, until Jair Lynch executed a ground lease with Howard in 2016 to renovate and restore the property.

The company kept the large parts of the former dorm and hotel intact, including the great hall and historic dark green and pale pink marble in the lobby. Carlos Bonner, Vice President of Development, commented, “We wanted to take advantage of the existing building features, including the unsurpassed views from sitting at the top of Meridian Hill Park, and complement them with additional Class A amenities.”

Jair Lynch remodeled the one-of-a-kind basement level swimming pool and added amenities to the roof including a rooftop lounge with grilling stations, televisions, stand-up bar, and games room, all against the backdrop of panoramic views of the park and downtown Washington. Additional amenities include a 2,660-square-foot fitness facility with spin bikes and HIIT cardio trainers, a landscaped courtyard with large veranda and bocce ball court, 24-hour concierge, a bicycle repair station, a pet grooming spa, an Amazon package locker, and cold storage for services like Blue Apron.

To celebrate the delivery of this new, historically significant building, Jair Lynch is holding a grand opening on Thursday, June 27, from 7:30 pm – 9:30pm. During the celebration, guests will have the opportunity to experience all of âme’s offerings, including one-of-a-kind amenities and well-appointed model units.
