Heritage at Old Town Block 4 Reaches Topping Out Milestone

Jair Lynch Real Estate Partners is pleased to announce that Heritage at Old Town Block 4 officially topped out on June 2, marking a significant construction milestone for the first phase of the broader Heritage at Old Town redevelopment in Alexandria, Virginia.

Located in the southern heart of Old Town, Block 4 is bringing 310 new apartment homes to the neighborhood, including 210 market-rate residences and 100 affordable homes. The building will feature below-grade parking, rooftop terraces, a courtyard pool, fitness and clubroom spaces, and more than 13,000 square feet of resident amenities.

Hosted by John Moriarty & Associates to celebrate the nearly 300 tradespeople whose hard work directly led us to this milestone, the topping out event brought together members of the development, design, engineering, and construction teams to celebrate the progress achieved to date and recognize the collaboration that continues to move the project forward.

Heritage at Old Town represents a long-term investment in one of Alexandria’s most established neighborhoods. When complete, the redevelopment will transform an existing affordable housing community into a thoughtfully designed mixed-income neighborhood that reflects the character of Old Town while creating new housing opportunities for current and future residents.

The broader redevelopment plan includes multiple residential buildings, below-grade parking, enhanced public spaces, improved pedestrian connections, streetscape enhancements, and upgrades to Wilkes Street Linear Park. Together, these improvements are intended to strengthen neighborhood connectivity, expand housing choice, and support a more vibrant and walkable community.

“Reaching the topping out milestone is an important achievement for the entire project team and a visible sign of the progress being made toward delivering new homes in Alexandria,” said Ruth Hoang, Senior Vice President of Development for Jair Lynch. “We’re grateful to our partners, consultants, contractors, tradespeople, and community stakeholders who have helped bring this vision to life.”

Developed and owned by Jair Lynch Real Estate Partners, the project team includes Hord Coplan Macht, John Moriarty & Associates, Bowman Consulting Group, Parker Rodriguez, SK&A Structural Engineers, and numerous additional project partners contributing to the successful delivery of the project.

Construction remains underway, with completion anticipated in 2027.
