Planet Fitness is now open at Penn Branch Shopping Center

Planet Fitness celebrated the grand opening of its newest DC location on Saturday, December 15th at the Shops at Penn Branch retail center. The firm signed Planet Fitness to a 10-year lease for 20K SF of space in 2017, where it will become the only retail gym operating in Ward 7. The gym offers local residents affordable and convenient access to strength training and cardio equipment, classes, and more.

Jair Lynch Real Estate Partners acquired the 89K SF retail center in 2016 as part of a vision to energize the neighborhood by providing more retail and community amenities. Jair Lynch ultimately hopes the redevelopment will serve as a catalyst for a larger revitalization of the surrounding communities of Penn Branch, Hillcrest, and Randle Highlands.
