UNCF, the 65-year old financial provider, is relocating its headquarters to mid-city Washington, D.C. to better serve the educational proliferation of African-American students. UNCF hired Jair Lynch to advise them with site acquisition and Industrial Revenue Bond financing activities. In addition, UNCF has procured Jair Lynch to monitor base building construction, and manage the interior development of their 50,000 square foot office condominium which includes the College Knowledge Center, a state of the art facility to encourage and assist students to seek higher education using all available resources. The project will achieve LEED® Commercial Interior Silver certification.
The new UNCF headquarters will be located within the larger $143 million mixed-use development, Progression Place, that will contain:
- Over 103,000 square feet of Office
- Over 24,000 square feet of Ground-Level Retail
- 205 Apartments (51 affordable at various AMI levels)
- 194 space, below-grade parking
