Celebrating Community: A Look Back at Jair Lynch’s 2023 Resident Engagement Activities

Jair Lynch has always stood on the foundational pillars of people, place, and prosperity. This past year, we’ve redoubled our efforts to embody these principles through a series of initiatives and events designed to enrich the lives of our residents and bolster the communities we are privileged to serve. It’s been a year where our mission—to be a catalyst of positive change, celebrate diversity, and create extraordinary environments for all to thrive—has truly come to life.

Celebrating Diversity and Fostering Connections

Jair Lynch’s focus on people was demonstrated across all properties, but specifically at Barcroft Apartments with events like a carnival-themed summer fest and “A Night of Latin Culture.” These gatherings were celebrations of the rich tapestry of cultures and communities that make up the Jair Lynch family. By bringing together more than 500 residents for moments of joy these initiatives underscored the importance of connection, understanding, and mutual respect.

Creating Spaces Where Communities Thrive

Our team’s events quickly turned properties into vibrant hubs of activity and support. Carver Terrace’s back-to-school resource fair, attended by over 350 community members, transformed the property into a beacon of empowerment, providing essential school supplies and a dose of fun. Similarly, the Fields at Cascade’s Pop into Spring event and Berkdale’s National Night Out promoted a sense of belonging and community pride, making these spaces more than residences—they became homes filled with laughter, support, and shared experiences.

Empowering Communities for a Brighter Future

The Villas at Langley’s grocery distribution from the Capital Food Bank and Entwine’s monthly grocery distributions ensured families had the needed resources to avoid food scarcity. These efforts are ongoing and aim to address the fundamental needs to provide residents with the means to thrive. Additionally, PLDA’s Tenant Association’s annual holiday party provided an opportunity for residents to share gifts, holiday foods, and games, contributing to a sense of well-being and joy among participants.

Embarking on a Mission-Driven Journey

Understanding that a sense of security is fundamental to thriving communities, Jair Lynch Properties also hosted a series of events aimed at educating residents about safety and security measures, as well as best practices. These events included police outreach events, designed to foster a positive relationship between residents and local law enforcement; domestic violence awareness sessions, which provide critical resources and support for those in need; meet and greets with security officers, offering a platform for open communication and trust-building; and neighborhood watch events, which empower residents to play an active role in maintaining the safety of their environment.

As we reflect on 2023, we’ve seen firsthand how investing in people, embracing the art of placemaking, and focusing on well-being can transform communities and create extraordinary places for everyone to call home.
