Harvesting Joy: October & November Community Recap
As the fall season unfolded, Jair Lynch communities came alive with festive fun, meaningful partnerships, and vibrant resident engagement. With 89 events across our properties attended by nearly 2,000 residents, the past two months have been a testament to community spirit and connection.
Halloween Thrills & Community Fun
Berkdale Apartments
Our residents embraced creativity at Trunk or Treat with 163 residents joining in the Halloween festivities. From beautifully decorated vehicle trunks to an energetic “Thriller” dance-off, the night was filled with laughter, treats, and unforgettable memories.
Potomac Vista
At Potomac Vista’s 4th Annual Trunk or Treat, 75 residents joined the fun. This year featured two food trucks and a partnership with Verizon, enhancing the experience for all families and participants.
Spooky Celebrations: Haunted Harvest at Carver Terrace
Carver Terrace hosted a remarkable Haunted Harvest to close out outdoor events for the year. Highlights included:
- A Haunted House and thrilling Virtual Reality activities.
- 24 coats distributed to residents in need.
- Seasonal crafts, complimentary food, and a big-screen showing of Transylvania.
- 50 pumpkins and music from WKYS that set the festive mood.
The success of this event speaks to our valuable community partnerships, including ANC D09 and WKYS.
Thanksgiving: Sharing Meals & Giving Back
Berkdale Apartments
Partnering with Mobile Hope and Grace’s Love, Berkdale hosted a Food Distribution event on November 15. Residents received groceries, hygiene items, diapers, clothes, toys, and more.
Potomac Vista
Residents gathered for a Thanksgiving Luncheon with meals catered from Dixie Bones BBQ and Mission BBQ. Served by the dedicated staff, 60 residents enjoyed turkey, sides, and individual pies to celebrate the season. Residents are already excited about next year’s twist on tradition!
Clarkston
Clarkston’s Thanksgiving Give Back event provided bags of fresh vegetables, donated turkeys, children’s books, and computers through partnerships with Veritas and other vendors. The community welcomed 65 residents and even drew in 40 additional guests for computer giveaways.
Ongoing Support for Residents: Monthly Initiatives
At Jamison, we continued our partnership with DC Central Kitchen, delivering 100 prepared meals to residents in October and November, a vital monthly initiative supporting families in need.
