Learning, Lifting Up, and Looking Ahead | March 2025 Highlights
As the last stretch of winter gave way to spring sunshine, Jair Lynch communities were buzzing with energy in March. Our residents embraced the season of renewal with everything from afterschool adventures to support programs that helped neighbors feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
Learning & Giving at Carver Terrace
March was a big month for young learners at Carver Terrace. With the help of More to Build and the Community Enrichment Project, our afterschool programs continued to be a safe, joyful space for kids to learn and grow. Crafts, light snacks, and access to tablets made every session feel like a mini celebration of creativity. We also made sure families were stocked up on household essentials—from detergent to dish soap—through a monthly distribution that served more than 150 residents in one day. One parent told us, “This makes such a difference—it means I don’t have to choose between supplies and snacks this week.”
Homework Help at The Jamison
At The Jamison, students and their families gathered in the community room for “Homework Hour”—a calm, focused space with water, juice, and chips to help fuel brains and keep the mood friendly. It may have been a small setup, but for the families who attended, the support was real. One staff member shared, “It’s a good reminder that sometimes all people need is a quiet table, a little encouragement, and a juice box.”
Staying Connected at Potomac Vista
Potomac Vista residents had the chance to learn more about affordable internet and mobile services thanks to a pop-up from Verizon. Representatives handed out branded merchandise and information, helping residents navigate ways to stay connected in an increasingly digital world. There’s more to come next quarter, including a session dedicated to unlocking low-cost WiFi programs.
Meaningful Connections
Across our properties, we saw how small moments added up to big impact. Residents picked up supplies, worked through homework, learned about technology, and shared snacks and smiles. More than 400 people participated in activities this month—and while each event had its own flavor, they all shared the same spirit: community, care, and connection.
As spring rolls in, we’re excited to keep building on this momentum. Thank you to the partners, volunteers, and residents who made March such a memorable month.
