Property Information

Jair Lynch, as part of a joint venture with Alpha Corporation, acted as fee developer for the DC Department of Parks and Recreation and managed the development of this brand new 14,750 square foot community recreation center. The facility features energy efficient technology and construction materials, and was the first public building in the District of Columbia to achieve a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The state-of-the-art facility includes a gym, workout room, and meeting space, with fields outside and a bio-pond for water collection. Students from Bertie Backus, Bunker Hill, and La Salle Elementary Schools regularly visited the recreation center throughout its development as part of their participation in Jair Lynch’s Construction Site Visit Program.
